What kind of clones are we talking about? If it's just a blatant rip off that was designed specifically to steal clicks and downloads from the popular original, then ofc they can go kick rocks.

But I don't mind if it's a game that does copy something that a popular game did, but it gave it some kind of twist - like a new aesthetic, or a deeper exploration of the genre, or working out the kinks and imperfections that the original had. Or maybe the original was a waifu collector and I like husbandos, so I'll be happy if the clone/new game has some characters I like for a change and will prefer to play that to the original. (or vice-versa ofc).
