How the hell is an introvert supposed to work a full time job and still have the mental energy to have something resembling a social life when you aren’t working?

I like to think of myself in between a introvert and a extrovert. I'm fairly okay in a work place as long there aren't any people to clash with. But also find building relationships with those co-workers meaningless. You find yourself pretending to care and wanting to quickly go back to the task at hand.

In the last year I went into business by my self. It does feel a lot better to not have to say hi to everyone every day. Yes I still have to talk to new people but not for very long and just for a limited time. My businesses take up a lot of my time as it's fairly challenging so there isn't a lot of time to think about socializing (Granted, I'm married with a introvert and I'm very okay with not talking to anyone else).

Just know that there are ways to avoid people on a general basis and personally I think it's okay. Some people may tell you that you have to put yourself in those type of positions to get use to it. But I often read stories of those who butt head with others and become miserable. It's sad to see people to suffer from anxiety and/or depression because they feel they need to be in those situations. But of course not everyone can avoid them either.

Anyways, hope you feel okay. Good luck.
