How many days a week should you drink alcohol?

Depends on a ton of situations.

  • How much are we talking about? There's a huge difference between getting shitfaced and drinking a glass of wine with your dinner.
  • Do you have to drive the same day? Then don't drink that day.
  • Do you have to drive the day after? Limit your drinking to a reasonable amount.
  • Do you have to drive for the next 5 days? Don't get shitfaced. (Depending on your weight, it can take multiple days for you to get legally sober enough to drive in some countries).
  • If you handle alcohol well, and function the day after, then it matters less what day it is.
  • Can you control yourself when drunk (assuming you drink more than a glass of wine)? Otherwise either limit how much or don't drink at all.
  • How do you handle addiction? If you easily get addicted, don't start. It's easier to never start than try to stop.
  • What environment are you drinking in? At home or another trusted location lessens the chances of negative experiences. With supportive friends helps in multiple ways. Friends should be supportive of a couple things: when you've had enough, and accept you not drinking. Setting up a positive environment minimizes the chance of you ending in a ditch with a broken nose.

TLDR: how many days should you drink? It depends, read the text. Some people will drink a single glass of something a day and be fine, others will get drunk 2-3 times a week and be fine. Some people take a shot of tequila and talk to the toilet bowl for an hour. Know your limits, be reasonable, and don't drink just to get drunk.
