How many hours should I work?

I worked 75-80/week my first couple years outta college and now probably 55. I have been fairly rewarded for it with very fast promos and large comp raises. It totally depends though. I would do it if I could put in my perf review and get rewarded for it. It is not the case at every company.

However,

The nature of my work is kinda stressful, I can choose which weeks I want to work but if I do it'll be around 70 hours and** I won't see family/friends** ... just work and sleep, mentally draining.

Yeah, no. I wouldn't do it.

Pay averages about $300/hr.

Still no.

Mental drain is not worth it. I was very young, unmarried and very much single that time. I used to go to gym, take the shower and eat all meals at work. That's not the life I choose to live anymore.
