How do Universalists deal with Matthew 10:32-33?

Woah, thank you for the long reply! I will read through it now, and speak of points I find of interest, if that is alright? Not to attack your beliefs, but I feel it is important for me to have the utmost skepticality...is that a word? Skepticalness? Be skeptical. That'll do.

if you don't feel the least bit of guilt, if you don't feel like utter garbage sometimes because of your past and present sins, then you are not truly saved.

I find this very interesting, but it also raises some questions in me. For instance, if guilt is integral to salvation, what about psychopaths?

Don't care about punishment. Don't care about pain. Don't feel shame. Don't feel guilt, and of course, don't feel empathy. These traits are not chosen, but associated with very distinct differences in brain structure, and are apparent at a very young age, where they are referred to as "callous unemotional traits." If a person is biologically incapable of empathy, due to their structure and of no fault of their own, how is this fair, given that guilt is a requirement for salvation? They were created this way of no fault of their own. Is it not cruel of a creator to create someone incapable of empathy and guilt, to only send them to hell for not feeling the guilt of sinning? If so, then for what purpose? How could this be anything but malicious and cruel?

God will discipline you for your sin.

But what does it mean to discipline? Is this a kinder way of saying that those who hate will be eternally tormented?
