Might as well make this a small one...

After using the Ogris for a while as well as the Opticor, I've found that the former is woefully lacking compared to the former. The Ogris only has a tiny fraction of the Opticor's ammo, with nowhere near as much power behind it. Sure, the damage can obviously be explained by the Ogris' much larger splash damage radius, but while both have a charge time and the Ogris can be held as long as needed, the Ogris falls short in usability due to the travel time of its rockets, as well as some seeming lag/bugginess. I've found that there is a serious delay between firing the gun and the rocket actually appearing. There's oftentimes ANOTHER delay that can last several seconds between the rocket hitting someone or something, and it actually exploding, usually resulting in the enemy being far out of range of the blast by the time it goes off. (No, I didn't have that sticky bomb mod installed)

Aside from lag issues, the weapon doesn't seem as versatile as its counterpart, particularly due to the ammo limitations and the danger of using it at close ranges.

My main proposal to remedy this would be to add an alt-fire option to the Ogris, with two possibilities:

First, allow us to detonate the rocket mid-air with alt-fire. This would allow us to shoot directly at targets ahead of us on a flat plane without the large risk of missing a precious shot, and in the case an enemy dodges a direct hit, we could still inflict some measure of damage regardless. There are a number of other clever uses for such a feature, of course...

Second possibility, allow us to shoot a short-range burst of flame like the Napalm units do, with their old-model Ogris. This could use the current ammo system, where one unit is consumed, for, say, three seconds of flamethrower. Alternatively, the Ogris could have two ammo counts of sniper and rifle ammo, where the Ogris would use sniper rounds for rockets and rifle ammo for its flamethrower. Third, it could have its ammo type replaced by rifle ammo, with a standard count of 540 rounds, where the flamethrower would quickly consume ammo, while the rockets would consume 20 rounds per shot.

Any further ideas or refinements?
