I really feel for you as I know how tough it can be. I see it as mixture between evolution (our brain says we need to eat it to survive) and our mental state etc. I started when I was a child and going through some family stress. This maybe getting too woo woo now but for me it’s acknowledging that that was what helped me at the time and now I no longer need this coping mechanism. Then I give my inner child some love!
It’s also hard when others don’t understand! So many times people have said just don’t eat it but they don’t understand the extreme pull and obsession I have when I know there’s crisps in the cupboard!! Hang in there, we can only do our best and remember to be kind to yourself as it’s so easy to beat ourselves up!!
