Armed Man in Michael Myers Mask Gets Shot by North Las Vegas Police

Man I just.... this one is hard. Idk if we have enough to know one way or the other yet

The cops were called because a masked man was alleged to be pointing a gun at people.

I'm curious to see if it was one person who reported it, or multiple. Because remember, people calling in fake reports to the police of black men being armed in public is a very real thing, with the intent that they get shot. But regardless of how many people reported it, you still have to take one report seriously.

Cop finds the masked man and told hin not to reach, guy proceeds to be non-compliant and reach.

Agreed that the dude did not listen to instruction, I am finding it hard with the video quality to see if the dude reached or not though, and right before he's shot he does appear to be putting his hands up, but he's also turning to run away, a comment above has a still zoomed in image of the guy at the moment of the shooting. But the dude is a black man, and who knows - maybe he straight up panicked, I mean the cop is pointing a gun at him, and we all know that excessive/undo lethal force is a very real problem. It's very possible this guy died because in a 10 to 15 second window of having a cop pointing a gun at him, the flood of fear for his life, he was unable to process the commands he was given due to flight/fight/freeze response. And from the cops perspective, he's got a guy who's allegedly armed, with multiple civilian bystanders, and he's not complying and he can't see his hands or if he's armed.

What exactly would you suggest the cop does in that situation? Wait until the guy draws his gun and shoots him first?

I don't know, I really don't, if he's not armed, then the report is false/wrong, as we know eye witnesses are wrong like 50% of the time. I think you'd agree with me that one person calling in that someone is armed isn't grounds for a cop to shoot someone within 10 to 15 seconds without knowing it they are actually armed or not, as said earlier if it was multiple reports then that's at least better grounds... but fuck dude, idk how so many people in this thread can watch this and immediately just be like "this was objectively justified" or "this is objectively unjustified"
