"If you believe that racial discrimination against white people is as serious a problem in American life as discrimination against racial minorities, as Republicans overwhelmingly do, then you’re inclined to view any specific appeal to minorities as the odious dangling of special favors."

See this is where the left is going to hand the election to Trump.

Racism towards blacks is systemic. It's been a problem of this country since its inception. Unfortunately, no one really knows how to deal with it. Reparations are not the answer. Personally, I feel we should expand affirmative action to trade schools and get more black youth into vocational skills. Most union jobs in this country are predominantly white and introducing more diversity may change our culture.

Now that being said, racism towards whites has exploded in the last few years. You can't walk in any poor, urban area of this country without being harassed or worse as a white male. The Internet is loaded with videos of whites being attacked by blacks and latinos for their privliege, or cultural appropriation, or their hat/shirt.

There's a huge difference between the two, racism towards blacks is more universal, it's systemic, and it keeps blacks locked into the bottom of our society. Racism towards whites is more confined to poor, urban areas, it's very much out in the open, but really only affects whites that come in contact with those areas everyday.

I'd argue that the latter is worse but only affects a small amount of people while the former is a larger problem as it effects the entirety of the black race.

But failing to acknowledge that racism towards whites exists is only going to win Trump the election. Just because a lot of left lives in upscale communities and doesn't have to deal with racism doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Racism towards whites has become a big problem in the last few years and at its current rate is going to carry Trump to the presidency.
