If the World of Warcraft devs made cars you would buy the car initially and only be able to drive in your local state or province, but pay them a monthly service fee to keep everything running smoothly.

Then Blizzard would charge you to let you drive in a neighboring state or province and charge you almost as much as they did when you bought the car initially. They'd also take a few locations that you used to visit out of your state.

Then they'd let you visit another state, again charging you and removing locations from your original state and the one you last purchased. Although now your vehicle behaves like a self-driving minivan instead of the performance sports car with the automatic transmission that you thought you'd originally purchased.

When you ask them to get the sports car mode back and the locations that you used to have in your home state, they tell you that you don't want that.
