If you feel paranoid, anxious, or obsessed over amiibo hunting, you may want to evaluate yourself.

but i need amiibos, i want to support a company, that despite their ineptitude, has brought my family smiles, bonding, and mental catharsis for almost 30 years.

we didnt have much growing up, but when someone donated an NES to goodwill, and dad brought it home for xmas, it brought us through some of the toughest times.

grandma loved pac-man and tetris before she died, so when we were grieving and planning her funeral, all the relatives i hadnt seen in years, regaled us with tales of grandma over playing tetris on our rare copy of tengen tetris. we got to know each other, and our grandma in a light we'd have never known.

when my brother found out he'd be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life, that didn't stop him from being one of the guys, i imported fire emblems, and read him the story and scenes in between with the JP i had been taking in school. being the guy with the "cool foreign stuff" in the neighborhood brought people over, but once the nintendo was gone, we traded pokemon, talked about our favorite games, had pizza, and joked around over nintendo.

now that i have a family of my own, and my brother is all grown up, it's part of who we are, and one of the major contributors of nostalgic joy in our lives for him, my wife, and my kids. it's strange to say, but a company has made our life brighter, rather than focusing on the almighty dollar like companies like EA and activision do. when all i wanted to do was show my younger brother how much i enjoyed all those days on the couch with old FE imports, i missed marth, but lucina would be my chance, as she came out on a few days before his bday, an amiibo was the perfect way to do it.

i had a custom made lucina + marth shirt to go with it.

you call it a craze, i call it a part of my life, from nostalgia, and a collector of figurines standpoint.
