My problem is that gen-crit minded people have to concede so much to even participate in trans discussions here and we still bashed, harassed, and called hateful. Then if we fire back we blamed for the lack of civility.
We have to concede that a person born male is a womon. Which for us means we are participating in the appropriation of our womonhood.
We have to concede that we have privilege over someone who was socialized with male privilege and still has all the privileges that come with having a male body in this world we live in. Which means we are betraying the core tenants of feminism and spitting on the blood, sweat, and tears our foremothers shed for us to have what little agency we have.
We have to concede that a person who was born and raised male is a lesbian. Which for us means we are participating in the appropriation and erasure of our own sexuality.
We have to concede to using female pronouns for assigned male at birth people. Which for us means we are again participating in the appropriation of our womonhood.
We have to make all these concessions yet we still get cursed at and harassed when we participate in gender related discussions here. We give up so much of what we believe for them and are still called bigots.
What concessions are the transgenders making for us??? We have to basically concede that we are wrong and trans people are right to even participate.
