I'm 16 and going through all these posts makes me dream of being financially free one day. Please someone with experience let me know how to start

Get a job and start saving. Major in computer science or engineering, or go into the trades (many tradesmen do considerably better than most people think). Live cheap, save lots. Don't buy anything you don't need; if you know you're going to replace something eventually (furniture, decorations, stuff you'll probably upgrade when you find a partner), either skimp on it or go without. As soon as you've got a decent emergency fund and your immediate needs (plus tuition, if applicable) are met, open a TFSA (or an RRSP if your employer will match your contributions), figure out what you want to invest in (broad market ETFs are generally a decent choice), and make regular contributions up to your annual contribution limit. Once that's full, switch to the other (RRSP if you went TFSA, TFSA if you went RRSP), or consider a regular brokerage account.
