I'm goddamn destitute, no one in my entire family has ANY money. Horrendous, crying/screaming wake me up every night level of pain. Help please.

Dude. People are trying to help.

I'm would help you if I could, but you're no where near where I am.

You can't be cynical about people trying to help you. See a dentist/oral surgeon. See what they can do. At this point you have to go face to face in an office and see what's available. If there's no organization or service who specifically help you find practitioners, then you have to do the legwork yourself.

I get it. Dentistry is expensive. So is what goes into it.

Your 500$ surgical extraction (120$ simple extraction) guess what that goes to? -rent -paying the front desk staff, the assistants, hygienists -the equipment. I mean the offices are surgical suites, man. It's not like an exam room at your doctor's office. -not to mention power/insurance/and all the other overhead expenses -education. Shit. I owe a shit ton of money -practice debt. Yeah. We have to pay for our offices to start up/buy.

So, in the end- how much do we personally take home? Not as much as you would think.

Dental insurance and medical insurance are totally different animals. They don't cover as much as medical would for medical expenses.

This is not to rant at you personally, this is to help you and others understand that we're not some money hungry group of professionals. There are some that are. That's true. But that exists in many professions.

Yes you're in pain. And someone near you (I'm sure) can help or is willing to help. Maybe they'll put you on a payment plan. Who knows. But they can't necessarily do it for free. They may out of the goodness of their heart, but that's up to them and they have to pick and choose who they're going to help out. In the end, they still have to pay Suzie out front, Kelly in the back, and Jessica in the hygiene room.

One office may charge more than another - well, they probably have to pay for more shit.

Good luck. It will be fine, but you've got to go to someone to get help.
