Ok, well I got into this around 1.5yrs ago. I was 39 and being into futurology am doing everything I can to be in optimal health. My goal is to make it long enough to the rise of anti-aging therapies. My variation of IF is eat 7-8hrs a day and fast 16-17hrs a day. There isn't much research on this option but I chose it due to already being slim and not wanting to lose too much weight. For me the change has been remarkable and astonishing. I was fit and exercised before this but approaching 40 seemed more tired at the gym and made zero gains. Months after starting IF things began changing immensely. When I started IF I was lean and 62kg, after almost 1.5yrs of IF I am 75KG and all muscle. I look like one of those dudes on the cover of Men's Health. The crazy thing is I take no supplements, and I don't work out any harder than I did before IF. It is like I am 20 again, no shit. I have incredible intensity at the gym, I can just keep going and going and going. Also, before IF I was a very anxious and stressed out person. Now even when the world is falling down all around me either with work or terrible finances, I feel zero stress, anxiety or worry. Nothing seems to bother me, I just feel calm 24/7. It's hard to tell but I don't seem to be aging much and I look younger and more healthy than when I started. My friends are like "damn, I wish I had your genes", I'm like ffs, I work at this every day. I eat a whole food diet, sleep well, meditate, IF, exercise daily. I can only speak from personal experience but IF (or this version I am doing) is the best thing physically and mentally to happen to me. Also, I recently had a full cardio workup and the cardiologist was blown away. Said I was top 1%. My GP did a full workup and was also amazed, she said my BP, bloodwork etc was that of a very healthy teenager. I hope it gets more mainstream, I think every man 40 and up should be doing this!
