Hmm, you seem defensive. I appreciate the "nice try" complement, but I wasn't 'trying' to do anything. Just sharing articles for review, to which you critiqued.

I'm just interested in a conversation.

So "First of all there is no evidence to suggest that Powell went as far as setting up in his own personal email server." Does that mean it's OK to use your personal email as long as the server isn't in your house but is instead on a public server, such as yahoo or gmail? That seems worse to me. But Jeb and Colin did it.

Second,

or that he used it exclusively

well, he used it for public business, as Hillary has also said. It's in an article I referenced:

admitted that he used a private email account for public business

Third:

or that he used it to handle classified material

Powell didn't qualify the 'classifiedness' of the emails. That's the opposite of transparent, isn't it? Yet I don't suspect he was trying to undermine our country by sending emails. I trust he made good decisions and he used a private email account on a public server, as did Jeb.

Also, Jeb says he, himself, did (according to the report):

former governor conducted all his communication on his private [email protected][4] account

So, you neglected to address that but chose to focus on Colin Powell to make your point.

Write a comment that says it's OK to use a personal email account and not share the emails with investigators, as Jeb and Colin have done. Further that the problem is that the server was in the Sec. State's house is the problem rather than on a common server, to clarify your argument and I'll believe you have thought this through.
