Why isn't anybody talking Sociology?

I find it problematic to make profound sociological statements about current events because of the incomplete information, preferences and biases we all deal with. It's easier over in r/criticaltheory because the field is more abstract and rhetorical but sociology without data is just weak assumptions. For example, I find the supposedly low voter turnout from young age groups this Super Tuesday quite interesting, but can't even say with certainty that is was lower, that there weren't other factors at play, etc. When I'm on a less rigorous subreddit I might just go out on a limb and make assumptions but that isn't why I subscribe to sociology... Oh I just got it, this just isn't the right platform.
