Israel confirms it plans to seize West Bank land

Are you really that ignorant?

Israel is surrounded by enemies. On the day after it declared itself a nation with the United Nations approval, it was attacked by Palestinians, and the armies of Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Iraq. God raised his hand and all the armies fell before Israel.

From 1948 through 1952, over 700,000 Jews emigrated to Israel, with about 285,000 of them from Arab countries. Jews have been in the Middle East as long as Arabs -- in fact they were once all Arabs. They're not "foreign invaders".

The PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization) was first established in 1964, under a charter including a commitment to "the liberation of Palestine [which] will destroy the Zionist and imperialist presence..."

On October 6, 1973, Syria and Egypt staged a surprise attack on Israel on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar. The Israeli military were caught off guard and unprepared, and took about three days to fully mobilize. This led other Arab states to send troops to reinforce the Egyptians and Syrians. Again, Israel prevailed. At the war's end, Israel had gained control of the Sinai Peninsula, the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Shebaa farms, and the Golan Heights, which were all used to stage attacks. The results of the war affect the geopolitics of the region to this day.

Obviously, there have been dozens, hundreds of smaller skirmishes involving the Palestinians lobbing rockets into Israel as well as sending suicide bombers into open markets onto buses and public places.

If the Palestinians truly wanted peace, they could have it in a day. All they'd have to do is stop hating Jews and agree to peacefully co-exist. Until that happens, you won't have a two-state solution.
