Jeremy Corbyn will NOT have the whip returned, Sir Keir Starmer has said.

Seats won in 2017 General Election: 262

Seats won in 2019 General Election: 202

With 326 seats needed for an overall majority, please tell me how he came close? Don't talk to me about percentage of the overall vote. Unfortunately that's not how our political system works. The leader needs to come up with a manifesto and election strategy to win seats in Parliament. Corbyn had two attempts and failed both times.

It's not enough to be popular with your base. A political party needs to sweep up the floating voters and steal a few votes from the opposition, or at least dissuade them from coming out and voting. Corbyn's unpopluarity outside of his base was plain for anyone to see. Putting him in charge of the Labour Party gifted the Tories two elections.
