A lot of the Puff meta is simply unknown. Of the top 15 players:

• two are from Florida and have beaten HBox (Plup, Wizzrobe) but usually lose; Puff is traditionally thought to win these matchups

• two have an apparent mental block against floaty characters in general (Mew2King, Westballz)

• one and a half play a character who loses hard to Puff (Axe, Armada/Peach)

• one is currently being treated for a health problem (PPMD)

• six and a half play Fox (Mango, Armada/Fox, Leffen, SFAT, Silentwolf, Lucky, Ice)

The remaining players are Shroomed, Swedish, and PewpewU. Shroomed and Swedish both hate the matchup and Swedish has gone so far as picking Luigi, but he switched back to Sheik at TBH6 and took Hungrybox to last game, although HBox was in a particularly bad mood after losing to SFAT (it would have been interesting if Swedish had gone Luigi and tried to tilt HBox more). Otherwise Swedish has never taken a game from HBox with Sheik, but Shroomed (who plays a very unique Sheik and has a set off Mango) does so regularly. PewPewU on the other hand has taken a set off of HBox and is 3-6 in games this year. Clearly Marth does better than Sheik against Puff (PPMD and Mew2King seem to agree) but how much better is up in the air. Axe thinks Falco can do it, Westballz apparently doesn't, PPMD does, and Mango changes his opinions based on the phase of the moon and his BAC.

But matchups change a lot at the highest level, so what about the lower levels? Sheik mains obviously still hate Puff, Marths usually don't. Falcos I don't know. Sheik's ability to pressure Puff to approach isn't very good because you can't needle anyone above you (aerial needles go down), whereas spacies can jump + laser; this plus the lack of a rest punish hurts her a lot relative to spacies.
