Joel starts the Alpha 18 Dev Diary

Maybe its just me but the Perk system is simply being misused to the point of ridicule.

Enforcer: Damage Do 5% more damage with magnums

... How, what? Magic? No logic behind it at all.

Enforcer: Apparel Take 5% less damage when wearing a suit

How does a book reduce your damage with a suit? That is just silly.

Enforcer: Unlucky Punks Do you feel lucky? The last shot does double damage

Congratulation on actually not even understanding the Dirty Harry movie this comes from. Do you feel lucky refers to the fact that the criminal does not know how many times Harry shot and thus has a choice to risk attacking Harry ( and potentially getting killed ) or disarming and surrendering.

Its just stupid to turn this into some magic double damage bonus.

Enforcer: Intimidation Bartering with a magnum drawn gives you a 5% better deal.

Wait, what? Are we even talking about 7D2D or some spoof? Well, any weapon needs to give a 5% better deal now or is a Magnum more special then a AK47, ...?

Enforcer: Ammunition Vendors have more magnum ammo for sale

How does reading a book gives Vendors more ammo ( for a specific gun even )?

Enforcer: Corrupt Cops Do 5% more damage to cops

Again ... why? Why? WHY? That makes no sense beyond turning the game into even more arcade. If they bothered making it into a book "Learning the structural weaknesses of body armor". And you get a 5% damage bonus vs cops and soldiers. Makes more sense now does it?

Enforcer: Bulk ammunition Bulk craft 44 Magnum ammunition

...

Enforcer Collector perk Shots from magnums have a high chance to dismember

I give up ... again, HOW ????? does reading a book turn a specific gun into a better dismembered device.

And the list just keeps going with other movie theme perks...

This must be a badly timed 1 April joke. This feels like the devs now are simply thinking: I love X movie, let me put X into the game as perks without even thinking about the logic, feasibility and realism of the perks themselves. And yes, i know i am talking about a zombie game where you can carry 5000000 tons but in the past beyond some limitation for gameplay ability, the game tried to stick more to a sense of reality.

From a atmospheric survival game to some kind of game that does not even take itself serious. Its almost like the developers have given up and are simply putting out shit just for the fun of it.
