We can combat it by becoming aware of it, calling out the behaviour of others and making the necessary corrections in our own behaviour.
I agree that you should call out racism when seen, but I don't agree that you should promote the idea that people are guilty of racism even if they don't act racist.

An increase of 20 or so unspecified hate crimes against mostly Jewish people, a huge demographic in NYC. I love this narrative that "Trump's election created a surge of hate crimes against Jews." When has Donald Trump even brought up Jewish people? Other than saying "nobody is more pro Israel than me."
