John McDonnell calls Churchill a 'villain'

Only it wasn't a one word answer - he qualified it with "Tonypandy", which is an absolutely ridiculous example.

"During the Tonypandy riots of 1910, troops were sent out to control striking miners who wrecked town centre shops and mine owners' property."

It was a full-blown riot. The miners were out of control and destroying people's property in a wanton manner, not just that of the "mine owners" which McDonnell's warped view of history probably assumes was the only target.

The reasons for them getting to that point are unfortunate, but it was in no way a disproportionate response to draft in the military to stop them destroying the livelihoods of others within their own community.

John McDonnell is a prime example of a militant leftist warping history to suit his own agenda.
