So I just found out that most gun people are steadfastly against warning shots. I am in a state of profound disagreement and confusion.

I've read the majority of your replies at this point and as much thought has you have put into this, there is a fundemental idea to a CHL you are not attempting to grasp.

You absolutely, positively, do not draw your weapon unless you are going to use it to remove a threat with deadly force. Simple. Easy. You do not attempt to intimidate because you do not carry a gun in hopes of intimidating attackers, thats a childish concept. In this contry the attacker could very well have a gun as well. Say they draw and brandish in response to your bright idea to just whip your gun out and wave it around in an attempt to assert dominance over a situation? Now you have a stand off or a gun battle which did not need to happen. It happened because you brandished your gun thinking it would scare the attacker away. But just like everything in this thread, this is just a hypothetical situation that has maybe happened and might happen in the future. I read the article posted on imgur. IF this story is real and none of the details are embelished, that man who attacked her for all intents and purposes was going to relentlessly stab her for drug money. He was going to take the life of another human. He made his mind up the minute he pulled that knife. He didnt pull the knife out to try and intimidate her into giving him the money... he pulled it out and was using it to stab her to death. When you use a weapon such as a knife there is an inate assumption it is being used to kill. You certainly do not intend on tickling this person with a weapon. That man had no remorse until he saw he could no longer take what he wanted without an easy fight. I am happy no one died in this situation, but it very well could have ended in a million different horrible ways for both parties.

Now, when a person runs away from you when you have a gun, in several states it is illegal to continue firing on them if there back is turned to you. That is on you if you continue firing when he runs away.

Also it is just negligent to draw a weapon in that close of proximity. it is very easy to get overpowered in the adrenaline of the moment.

Good show btw mate you can certainly raise flames around here.
