Perhaps you're referring to simply saying privilege makes points invalid, but on the off chance you aren't, here's my reply:

I disagree with your conclusion but understand where you're coming from. Privilege is quite literally the thing that we as leftists seek to destroy. Not in that we need to pull you down, but that those less fortunate can live a life with the same comforts. Now, while traumatic events and situations can happen to anyone, and looking down on someone for having that privilege, completely ignoring their struggles is wrong, if we took the focus away from institutional privilege we'd no longer be progressives, or socialists.

While yes, your trauma is valid, your privilege is something that you have up on people in many aspects, whether that be racial, financial, etc. We need to recognize that even those well off in some ways are doing poorly in others, and we need to strive to, again, erase the existence of privilege.
