Oh Christ, this is heart breaking to see. Half our engineering team at work are in Ukraine, one of my team is actually based in Kharkiv and she was unable to get out :( everyone was so happy to see her join the standup yesterday. It is just horrible, but like all the stories coming out on social media it’s just incredible to see her determination, she’s still smiling and making jokes with us, all whilst this is going on just a short distance away. We’re obviously telling them not to work, to do whatever they need to do to take care of themselves and their families, to rest whilst they can etc but many of them are doing so because they want a sense of normality and it’s a distraction; which I guess I can sort of understand. All of this because of the fragile ego of a paranoid megalomaniac :(
