Redditors who have been scammed before. What happened?

Picked a job from craigslist. It was installing Operating systems on some computers for a supposed construction company. I know it was dumb but I fixed the situation. When I realized something was weird, I started emailing them with an address from tempmail.com and opened a PO Box. They were emailing me and the email signature was a church or something based in another state than these people said they were from. When I searched the signatory person on the email, it came up with another company's CEO. So all of this was weird. I gave them specific instructions as to where to send the computers and how to bill. They wanted to send me a cashier's check and pay the shipping from that when I get the computers. I told them I will not do that, they have to ship me the computers with a check that has the shipping cost taken out of it. They ignored this request and sent me a check anyway to the aforementioned PO Box. Now I had their address, which was in Russia curiously enough, and I turned it over to the FBI. I emailed them to put a stop payment on the check and told them that I handed it over to the FBI with all other gathered information. Closed the email and the PO Box. Never heard anything after that.
