At least 10,000 people died in Tiananmen Square massacre, secret British cable from the time alleged

I'm Chinese, just graduated from college, and many people of my generation know about it. My ex-boyfriend used to be in one of the top universities in China, and his classmate would secretly hand out brochures during anniversaries of the event. So there are some people who give a shit.

Unfortunately China is such a big country, and events like that are easy to bury before smartphones and steam videos, not to mention with the current censorship. Average people have seen their saving account grew since the 80s and simply don't bother digging the truth out. Also Chinese in the 80s had very different mindset.

It's a shame that my people seem indifferent on censorship, but increasing numbers of them on Chinese social media are standing against the great firewall right now. I guess there's still hope.
