Lets talk about "Everybody wants some!!"

Dazed and Confused is one of my favorite movies. Even though it was set in the 70's it captures high school in the 90's as well.

There are some universal experiences that makes the movie timeless. Young looking freshman worried/excited about the start of high school. Seniors thinking they are real adults but really are still kids. Friendships changing, kids moving into the "cool" group. The just out of school guys hanging around. The end of school beginning of summer feeling. The keg parties and just generally trying to get beer. Driving in cars with no place to go. I also like seeing the story from a few different perspectives.

Everybody wants some was boring in my opinion. I kept expecting the story to start and it never did. The costumes/hair were a bit exaggerated and there were a few characters that were over the top. I did think how the movie had the guys hanging out together but not all really friends and all involved in whatever they were doing at different interest levels. For example, two dudes playing ping pong and very competitive, a couple of dudes watching and another few kind of pop in the room take a look and then bail. It rang very true.

The movie lacks focus and does not provide the different perspectives that i think make Dazed and Confused a classic.
