What's the worst case of "spoiled rotten" that you've seen?

My childhood friend would call me crying about how poor they were (this started when I started expressing how tight on money my family was - sometimes living in our car or shelters). Then three hours later she'd call me and say her mom wanted to cheer her up. So they bought her a new tv and stereo (every month she got new ones) and a new wardrobe.

All the way through high school, her parents sent her gift baskets on holidays. Valentine's, Easter, etc.

She'd complain about our food tasting weird when she was over. And she knew it was tough for us to feed ourselves, let alone her too. So she would never finish it. My mom and I eventually worked together to never have her over for dinner. Or I'd straight up tell her she won't like what we had and to eat before she got here.

Our only luxury item was soda. Not a lot. A 12 pack would last three of us over a month. My friend would come over and drink 4 or 5 within 12 hours.

Well. I hate to say it. But she finally gained a little bit of common sense after her dad died.

But man. I always felt so inferior to her.
