Lia Thomas' Swimming Is Getting Swamped In Others' Fears

My favorite article so far is a swimmer on another team finally "breaking the silence" (except not really because she's anonymous like everyone else) feeling the urge to speak up because her teammate was sad about just missing the cut in the race Lia won. I'm sorry, but don't people miss the cut in every single event every single year? Why are we suddenly treating this as such a massive tragedy? Why was this person suddenly robbed when every other athlete on earth is told to work harder?

Still waiting to see evidence that trans women have ever demonstrated a systemic or outlier advantage in any sport.

Impressed that the New Yorker made a point I didn't think any mainstream news outlet would: none of this ever seems to be a problem until a trans woman starts winning, then everyone suddenly has an opinion as though they gave a fuck all along.
