Life long debt consequences

As a mathematics graduate, you can surely figure out that your monthly payments would probably not even cover the interest that accrues on these loans.

If you can qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, and make 10 years of payments that meet the requirements (make certain of this at the beginning so you don't find out at year 10), that would be one option. Do note that the Trump administration is attempting to discontinue the PSLF so its continued existence 10 years from now is not a given.

The rules of this sub forbid me from advocating default, but you should be aware of what the penalties are for neglecting to pay your loans at all and how they compare to what you are up against.
