LIVE STREAM FAILS

This thread has been locked. This post is not a discussion or invitation for argument, but a notification. All necessary information can be found in this post. There have been many complaints over the past few months regarding the moderation of this subreddit. Moderator control has returned to the originating team because this is what has been repeatedly requested paired with recent events here. PLEASE REMEMBER All post submissions must be approved before they go live. We do not condone witch-hunting. No swatting videos, no pitchforking, and no links to streamer's personal (vs the account used to interact with the community) social media pages should be submitted or posted in the comments. This is not a subreddit for intentional content. We will not tolerate obvious production of "fail" content in order to gain views for your stream. No camgirl videos or porno thumbnail screenshots will be approved, ever. NSFW content must be marked. Timestamp flair is strongly encouraged, tagging a moderator can help assist you. We will be taking on one experienced moderator who will help control the submission queue. This moderator has been selected and is /u/Golden_Taint. Why is this happening? The moderator left in charge took it upon himself to freely offer the role of lead moderator to anyone who was interested, via a tweet on Jan 1st. This was beyond his scope of approval. He was aware of this responsibilities and the scope of his independence before he was appointed chief moderator. His recent desire to step down and the need for a replacement was never discussed with us. In our most recent interactions, he communicated a desire to stay on as the only active moderator despite drama and accusations of bias in his mod actions and content approval/removal. Upon further investigation, it's become apparent that this moderator stepped down as mod with their main account without notice to owners 11 days ago. Then added several newer and dummy accounts (including a known sock-puppet) with full permissions while simultaneously stating publicly that the subreddit should be banned. Three days ago this (ex)mod then requested his appointed team re-add his main account as moderator, despite his open admissions of disdain for this subreddit. I have no idea who these new mods are, or the extent of their relationship with your previous acting mod. To remain impartial and secure in the absence of nefarious activity/desires, all mods approved 11 days ago have been removed. This is not their fault or result of their moderation here in those 11 days, but rather an unintended consequence of being misinformed and misled by the previous acting mod. This is unacceptable behavior for a moderator and action in this situation is fully warranted. Bias in prior moderation This (ex)mod's position as a Twitch admin was not made known to us at any time since he began moderation here, and was discovered last night during a re-read of the (recently updated) Twitch profile. He was taken on as the most qualified candidate from a /r/needamod post some time ago. He was given the role of main acting mod with oversight. He was "looked into" to see if he had the familiarity with streaming (in a general sense) that he claimed to have. His (then minimal) Twitch profile portrayed him as a "used to stream-er" who wanted to get back into it. This is the only information that influenced the decision to bring him on as chief acting moderator. We are not claiming that this (ex)mod willfully withheld this information for personal interest or gain because we have no reason to believe that. This is an explanation of "how a Twitch admin became a mod here" since it has been a hot topic. We did not know this person was an admin because we are not part of the streaming community, and we felt no need to continually reaffirm and verify his identity and responsibilities outside of this subreddit. The initial research into this (ex)moderator was done as fully as possible (we can only see as much as he willingly shares) once at the beginning of the moderation delegation. I fell into this subreddit by chance and was trying to give the subscribers a quality moderator who could help determine if content was worthy of your time. This is not a witch hunt. We do not condone any harassment of the previous moderation team. Feelings were felt, actions were taken, we are all human. This is an explanation of the actions that led to the change in moderation you see today. This is our effort to be transparent with our subscribers about major changes within the subreddit. Let us move forth and grow this subreddit into what it was intended to be. This subreddit started from a comment thread in /r/funny as a place "to have a laugh at livestream accidents". It has become a place for negativity and pitchforking. The negative temperament of this subreddit is what lead to the (ex) chief mod leaving, and pitchforking absolutely occurred whether you personally witnessed it or not. This is not the place for witch hunts. Reddit is not an army. This behavior will not be tolerated in this subreddit. edited to streamline/add info and edit grammar."
