I lost myself when I put the hijab on

Allah knows best, and inshallah I don’t incite sins from the advice I’m going to write.

Take a paper, write down 5 things u used to do that you were proud of, like praying all the prayers.

After u write the list, underneath the list write down what u feel when u think/want to do these things, is it lazy, depressed, scared etc. from there u can tackle it. Depression,, take meds and pray with your eyes if you don’t have energy because when ur sick I’m pretty sure god the almighty forgives. Or if your scared play dua in your room, read about heaven and the blessings of Islam, because imo being scared sometimes can push u away and that’s the shaitan + overwhelming yourself.

The hijab is between u and Allah, it’s not my business so what u do is up to you, but I’m pretty sure you have to take small steps into wearing the hijab feels okay for you. Overwhelming yourself and getting further away from Islam is not the goal of course. But also this may simply be a test that u need to push through, read about the beauty of hijab and the beauty of Deen. It’s going to be hard sometimes because humans are lazy but I don’t believe it’s the hijab I believe it’s your view and also how it may have affected your self esteem and overall balance. You just need to practice working your way up again and finding that balance
