Lyme disease question. Test came back with bands on 39 and 41.

I do agree that lyme can be a bit over-diagnosed at times, but a good LLMD will always do a proper diagnosis of their patient. LLMD's exist for a reason. There is a large number of people with this disease that aren't getting help from anyone, except the LLMD's.

Chronic Lyme disease is actually an extremely complex and difficult to diagnose disease. It's generally used an an umbrella term and not solely used to reference only the borrelia bacteria themselves. This is because there are generally numerous other co-infections that usually accompany the borrelia due to the nature of the disease (babesia, bartonella, ehrlichia, mycoplasma, etc.) and are also difficult to test for. There's also other factors as well that contribute to being chronically ill with chronic lyme disease overall. There has been a lot of research done into treating the complexity of this disease through several different agencies. If you're interested in learning more about the disease, please refer to the following:

Additionally, here's one article that goes into more detail about recent borrelia strains that were discovered that we don't even test for as we didn't know they existed: http://underourskin.com/news/discovery-new-lyme-strains-invalidates-current-tests

Lastly, the fact that OP's wife got bitten by a tick, then had a bullseye, and then exhibited a myriad of symptoms but was never treated for lyme and then she suddenly came down with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome all proceeding said tick bite is more than a little odd; don't ya think?
