Magic mushrooms 'reset' depressed brain

Let me clarify: Shrooms can, if you are in the right mindset bring forth the clarity that years of self abuse or aimlessness would bring.

For example, an alcoholic may hit rock bottom when his wife has left him, he's spent all of his money and he has no friends and he's lying on a cold sidewalk in the middle of winter. At that moment he has clarity and finally sees how his actions have led him to where he is, and there is an emotional point where the alcoholic drops his bad habits and starts behaving in healthier ways and lives in a more intentional way towards his goals and the things he loves.

With shrooms, usually towards the end of the trip, for some people there is a moment of great anxiety when you realize the mistakes you've made and this emotional rock bottom can be a pivot point at which someone turns their life around. For example, a student failing out of college living in his messy room may see how his decisions are taking him in a way he doesn't want to go and when he wakes up the next day cleans his room and dedicates himself to his studies and improves his grades.

Rock bottom is a pivot point in life where you say "oh shit" and you start to make better decisions.

In essence I was saying shrooms can bring forward that important moment where you realize your own faults, and bring you to an artificial anxiety or emotional place so powerful that you are motivated to change.
