Maintenance guy started eating my chips while I was at work.

Last year I put in a request to look at some mold I found in the bedroom closet. They came out while I was here and said they would be back later to clean it as it wasn't that big of a deal. So I left the house and came back 4 hours later.

I walked in the apartment and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. So I went to go see if they cleaned it. Opened my bedroom door to find an industrial de-humidifier and an industrial fan blowing under the carpet and half of my closet on the otherside of the bedroom.. It was already 6pm, so the office was closed and nobody would answer their after hours line. So I walked in the bathroom and there were a bunch of boxes with my childhood belonging and old computer parts and my small Christmas tree thrown into the tub, curtain wasn't even moved out of the way.. It was all completely drenched.

I figured it must have been black mold or something for them to need all of that and to accidentally get my belongings wet.

Well, next day they told me they hit a pipe trying to remove a small piece of drywall, which sprayed water everywhere.. I had to throw 95% of the soaked things away. I couldn't sleep in my bedroom for 4 days, because it took that long to dry.. I was pissed.. They said to send them a quote on how much the stuff was worth and they would go over it.

So I sent an email to them saying that considering how much they paid for the clean up yadda yadda, that I would take $300. They replied back and told me I owed them $100.. Asking why, they said the cleanup bill was $400 and they only caused $300 worth of damage to me, so I had to pay the difference.. So I got their corporate office involved and got a $150 credit for my next rent check and an apology.

Long story short, apartments suck when you need anything fixed.
