Man dies after waiting 16 hours in Quebec hospital to see a doctor

As someone returning to Quebec after moving around for ten years... You have fully captured my problem. Once into a system, the doctors here seem very responsive and caring. But getting into that system is an unending string of phone calls that never get to a human and just hang up after telling you to go to a website to make an appointment. But regardless if you go at 567-89 or 10:00 a.m. there are never any appointments.

It took 8 months for us to get our health care cards, the family doctor line basically laughed at me when I asked for an update, and when we went to ER for my kidney stones I was left to scream in pain for 4 hours before anybody would see me.

I have Crohn's disease and need iron and B12 infusions roughly every 3 months. I've been here for 9 months and tried clinics, ER, and Telehealth, nobody will give me my infusions.

Now I've been for blood work and a colonoscopy each 3 weeks apart. a And I have to wait another 4 weeks before I'll see the doctor who got the results of those blood tests showing that my iron, B12 and magnesium are all undetectable...

Once I see him I'm sure it'll be another 3 to 4 weeks while they schedule the infusions.

Hopefully I don't die before then. My skin is grey. My brain is not working much anymore.

And I'm trying to build a house out in the forest with my own hands, but most days I can't handle more than 30 minutes of work before I'm ready to give up.
