why do so many of you hate new wave teen centred pop punk, no it's not particularly hard core but it's getting kids into the scene and spreading the message.

For me personally, and from my experience, I think most teens these days are of the YouTube/tiktok generation, where they have a platform to actually express THEMSELVES, and don’t rely on conveying a band’s lyrics to do it for them like most of us older folk had to. I think it’s fucking awesome that kids these days can jump from genre to genre, and never hear the word poser for liking something different. If a kid likes “punk” “goth” “hardcore” enough these days to be interested enough to get into their local scene, AWESOME! If they don’t, at the very least their taste is broadened, and to an extent more accepting of others that go that path. In other words, the kids are alright
