As a Muslim I agree to an extent. I do not believe Islam is the problem but rather my fellow Muslims. Islam for years has been filled with curruption and in a civil war since our prophet passed away. Two sides who believe they are right stubbornly, and the two sides have proven to be unable to coexist.

As the world evolves to be more politically correct, and develop into a more rational society Islam is doing the opposite with the religion becoming increasingly hostile and devided. Even the most civilized Muslims who would never murder a soul still have a lot of animosity towards a Muslim who practices different beliefs under the same religious umbrella. This is unexceptable, and make the Muslim world filled with hypocrites who follow previous generations mistakes blindly.

The Quran is supposed to be a guide for Muslims from the prophets time until now covering many centuries. Rational Muslims can understand rules made hundreds of years ago are not applicable to society today, and God gave us all common sense to accimilate into society with the goal of being stand out citizens to represent Islam greatly as a good happy disciplined way of life. Instead Muslims have represented Islam to becoming a very angry, strict, hateful religion which have started becoming a cancer as well as a political tool for superpowers across the world to take advantage of for their benefits.

I do not believe this issue will ever go away, but as a Muslim it's my responsibility to call out these people in hopes things will turn for the better. Many Muslims want to make excuses, and for some it feels like being dealt a bad hand being called a terrorist due to savages in these third world countries, but it's our responsibility to change the perception of Islam and it's telling that after 15 years since 9/11 we have failed to do so.
