So many people are quiting

I have been in the company for ten years. I'm stepping down as a team leader this week, for developing issues with my heart, (I'm 32 and shouldn't have heart issues) In my experience, each district has it's collective of the "in" crowd. Those managers that like you will promote and train you. However, as the company explained when you step up, there's a bullseye on you.

So those managers push who they want at their round tables. And most times, if someone who is trying to move up and has merit. That applicant will be passed up, because another has a family member that's a store manager will push for them and not you.

Couple this, with associates having inventory bonuses removed. Now, managers care less about training associates to take ownership. And more over the presentation, then function or stability of our employees.

So we don't train our associates anymore, we don't encourage them to become owners. And those at the highest level question why their struggling? No, they understand what's happening, that's how Publix had a record year last year.
