March Technical Support Sticky

Hi! I just bought a new Razer Blade Pro 17, and I am absolutely loving it so far.

I produce EDM as a hobby and use FL Studio as a DAW. I was really looking forward to getting some production done with the new blade, but I am getting some pretty heavy UI lag in FL Studio.

Using the task manager I was able to deduce the problem is that FL is using only the integrated Intel UHD Graphics 630 when it comes to drawing the UI. Just dragging windows around in a demo project causes the 630 to spike to 80-90% and a lot of stuttering.

So I started looking around the web for ways to force an application to use the dedicated RTX, and the usual solutions were to either add a profile in the NVIDIA control panel for the application, or to add the application in Windows 10's graphics performance settings and set it to high performance. Neither of these options worked. No matter what I do, FL uses the Intel.

As a last resort I tried directly disabling the Intel UHD Graphics 630 in the device manager. This resulted in a screen flicker, and then I immediately noticed that 144hz no longer was working. However - the lag in FL Studio was gone! Unfortunately NVIDIA was telling me that I wasn't running a compatible GPU (no clue why this was happening), and I couldn't enable 144hz anywhere anymore.

Thus... this post. I am hoping someone here could guide me to a solution. I essentially just want to be able to force FL to use the RTX without having to disable the integrated graphics completely.

Thanks so much for any help!
