Medusa played multiple times in the European qualifiers. Let's discuss the Linken's rush.

Don't add "compared to". I know manta is faster for farming. I only said mana regeneration is good for farming since you can happily tank creep damage and sustain is a component of farming speed.

Medusa does go BKB. Quite necessary against some carries such as Spectre or AM.

Storm wants a high mana pool so he can make large jumps btw.

And the higher Medusa's mana the more damage she can endure. Mana regeneration is like HP regeneration in fights. It makes a difference. Also in between fights you'd like to regen as much as possible and top up.

I'm not saying I think Bloodstone is core, or even worth a slot and I definitely think it is more effective on heroes such as Storm, but mana and mana regeneration is a component of what Medusa needs to do her job. From my experience you need one "mana" item at least, the difference in durability is insane and I don't think Linkens is good enough so what, you disregard it entirely?

Forming the ideal build for a Medusa is easy, simple work but it's the order that's tricky. Medusa is fairly easy to counter by simply running down her towers and team. Play too greedy and you get mowed down. Play too defensively and you do no damage. Going manta first, your illusions do nothing due to her abysmal damage so unless you get it at like 14-16 mins it's not worth being the first item for a Medusa. Regardless, the fastest way to farm as Medusa is BoTs first into Demon Edge, into Yasha/Manta but that's very greedy and easily punished.

The thing is that people seem to misunderstand is that I was watching Dendi and Pajkatt both building Linkens as their first major item. Which offers some meager stats and mana regeneration. I made this thread to try and determine whether buying a linkens is better than buying a hex first. Clearly they seem to value the mana component of Medusa to make it hard for the enemy to just gang her.
