Members of the military, what're your best stories from basic?

Sleep fishing

The day we got of the buss isn't even day 1, it's not even zero day. It's "here's your linen, here's your dorm, go to bed and don't get out of bed"

So, we get off the bus around midnight, get yelled at for not doing it right/fast enough. Finally make it into an office to fill out some paperwork, get our linen, then off to the dorm. We're yelled at to find a wall locked and put our nose on it. The bed across from the locker was then your bed.

That night, we had "dorm guards" which were week 6 (of 6 weeks) trainees (meaning they knew the basics and feared messing up).

Some time after lights out (maybe 1ish AM) I see two of them congregating around a guy about 4 beds down. He was on the top bunk, with his legs up and over the end head rails, the ceiling was maybe 4" above his head....and he was just fishing away. Sleep fishing.

One of the dorm guards decided to grab his foot/leg while shining a light on his chest and face. The dude snapped out of it and that's when all shit broke loose.

First, he "tried" to jump to his feet, completely forgetting that he was in bed and with a ceiling just inches above him. He loudly slammed the ceiling which caused him to flip over the end of the bed and fell like a sack of potatoes onto the floor. He immediately got onto his feet and in a room dimly lit with a light military orange glow...ran the fastest 100yd sprint in history...except it was only 8' away and there was a wall locker in the way. The crash woke everyone up, he went night night. Lights came on, he quickly regained consciousness (maybe out for 5seconds), and the TI was called in, followed by the EMT who put him on a stretcher to carry him away.

We never saw him again.
