I (42M) got separated from my wife/partner of 18 years in Feb 2019. I’d effectively been off the dating scene since the tail end of the Clinton administration, so dating apps are a whole new world to me. I have a love/hate relationship with them. In that time, with a modicum of effort, I’ve had sex with 4 different women (one of whom I’ve been dating for 5 months), chatted with a bunch more, and even had a couple of missed opportunities that didn’t quite work out for various reasons. I deleted all the apps when things got serious, but I was getting maybe a match or two a week on the apps. Honestly, I’m a bit of a romantic. I love sex, but I’m usually looking for an actual relationship. I always catch some kind of feelings when sex is involved, call me old fashioned.
