'Merica, how long do you usually wait for doctors?

Regular doctor appt: 2 weeks + about 10-30 minutes because they're often running behind in their appointments

Seriously that long ?

I thought that /r/murica and T D was bragging about how waiting time are shorter thanks to private healthcare and that universal healthcare would mean long waiting time. We have universal healthcare, if I show up to my doctor with no appointment I am seen within 30 minutes to 2 hours, and I get an appointment within 1 to 4 days depending how important it is (and whether it's bad enough to skip work)

For specialized doc that's another story (unless your general practitioner personally called the specialist to say that the appointment can't wait, Once I've been seen the next day by an eye-doctor while they had no appointment available)
