[META] On average, how many replies do you get when you post?

Gender: Male

Target: Female

Time of Day: Varies, but usually afternoon to late evening NA

Kind of Post: Generally Celebrities, R34 or fantasy/sci-fi. Contemporary or kink-based RP's are usually easy to find via new/hot and don't require a prompt on my part unless I've really got a fire for a certain kink or imaginative vision.

The prompt usually remains in the first page of 'new' for about 15-20 minutes and then fades into obscurity. On rare occasions it might earn enough upvotes within an hour to land on the 'hot' page, but is usually gone soon after.

Responses are generally few, 0-3, and almost always within the first hour of the prompt. The most I've ever recieved was 6, none of which resulted in actual play on that occasion. Funny how that works out. As an M4F who tends to post detailed, narrative-driven prompts primarily toward a niche audience and often in pursuit of long-term play, I'm not surprised by the low percentage of success. I've been told it's usually easier (and more personally satisfying) for F4's desiring the same to draw up a prompt of their own and audit the flood of suitors instead. Which is understandable, quantity doesn't guarantee any measure of quality and you'll always get exactly what you want by making your own prompt instead of pursuing someone else's.

Consequently, I write prompts more for my own amusement and to present a splash of intrigue or spicy prose for the rare few who click on them. I'm thrilled to see play emerge from these fantasies, but more often than not it's crickets and an 8 hour wait until the next time I'm able to post again.
