Hard disagree here. I skip prompts that have no OOC. Categorically.

And good. :) Because you know what you want and I know what I want and we know how to be true to ourselves.

More to the point... Speaking/clarifying in the context of strictly in-character RP prompts (as opposed to prompts that are specifically intended to be mostly or almost entirely OOC, which are their own animals):

Keep the OOC to a minimum

I don't necessarily take a hard pass on minimal or near-minimal OOC -- or even much-more-than-minimal OOC if it happens to be interwoven especially well.

But so much OOC prompt content these days is "Hey everybody! Here's a complete restatement/summary of everything you just read with little to no new information. Why are the circumstances of this prompt like this? Maybe it's because you did this one weird thing. Maybe it's because you did this other weird thing. You decide! Now behold my 31 kinks and 14 limits!"

All of which I personally find unappealing for a whole host of reasons.

In any case, I would respectfully maintain that there effective ways to do OOC that add something to the post, and that there are ineffective and potentially counterproductive ways to do OOC that do the author no favors. Length is an important component of this equation; so too is effectiveness.

(As a footnote: Some seem to rely on OOC lists as a crutch instead of using some of that information to better enrich the in-character prompt -- which is an attractive shortcut, but may ultimately rob themselves from turning a good prompt into an excellent and spectacularly sexy prompt.)

Again, YMMV.
