My boss thinks it’s ok to not pay me my last paycheck after I quit a couple days ago and now I can’t get my Christmas presents I wanted to get. I just reported him to labor law and do you guys think I should get a lawyer

I don't know your situation as you really don't give any information at all so how tf should we know if you need a lawyer or not.

Reading your comments you normally get paid cash? So it is new for him and you to pay you this way. Direct deposits can take a couple of business days to get cleared and you quit a couple of days ago so. Your boss has no influence on what time it will be deposited. So if it should be deposited 'today' you shouldn't be complaining at the start of the day but at the end.

So when did you quit, when did you tell him you didn't want cash but a direct deposit, when does he normally pay via direct deposit (can be a different day from cash payments).

If you worked he has to pay no doubt. But all I can make up from this is that you fucked up your timing and are now trying to blame him for the fact you can't buy presents.

So change my mind by giving the right information.
