My dad got hit in the head in New Mexico. Cops closed the case saying there was no witness statement, but there were 2 reports that they didn’t record. Now he is in a hospital in Atlanta after having major surgery on his skull/brain. How can I go about getting justice for him?

Does he have short term or long term disability insurance via union or employer?

Mom can ask for a social worker at the hospital, they may be able to direct her to more affordable accommodations.

Dad is lucky to have survived this. Y'all should start social security disability paperwork now. Takes 6 months to start paying out but head injuries like his get fast-tracked for approval.

The crabby weird head injury behavior isn't personal but it doesn't feel GOOD (and luckily it can fade).Therapy might help you navigate this easier if you have any way to access it. Stressful times. My personal experience is that the paperwork is a full time job for a few months. Someone must stay on top of deadlines and compliance for all his benefits, Ssdi application, FMLA, etc. Coordinate with doctors, rehab...there's so much to track.
